Ken Mooyman promoted to President and CEO of Leica Geosystems, Inc.

k_mooyman.jpgHeerbrugg, Switzerland, Oct. 6, 2008 — Hexagon AB has promoted Ken Mooyman, Leica Geosystems, Inc. senior vice president of sales NAFTA, to the role of president and CEO of the company.

In his new role, Ken Mooyman will be responsible for the company’s performance in the NAFTA region. Mooyman comes to his new role with a proven record of success in corporate management, sales, support, product and market development.

Mooyman takes on the leadership role at a time when Leica Geosystems, Inc. is involved in several product areas such as laser scanning, GPS, total station systems and airborne sensors. In his new position, he will reinforce a strong customer and channel focus to build on the company’s robust presence in the construction, surveying and other geospatial markets, plus set a course for continued profitable growth and development of new business.

Recognizing Leica Geosystems’ reliable and innovative products, Mooyman adds that the most important factor in achieving success will come from its greatest asset – its people. He also adds that “its people” extends beyond our employees and includes our dealers, distributors, agents and other partners who represent us in the NAFTA market.

“One of the key success factors for Leica Geosystems is trust from our customers — trust in our positioning solutions and trust in our people’s knowledge and support,” said Mooyman. “Together, our people and our products continue to further elevate Leica Geosystems’ presence in the NAFTA marketplace.”

Initially educated as a surveyor, Mooyman has been at the forefront of the professional positioning marketplace for more than 20 years, from the early days of GPS to the recent development of Laser Scanning technology.

“Ken has been instrumental in helping Leica Geosystems achieve success in both the international and domestic markets, so we are excited to be handing the reigns of this business to someone of Ken Mooyman’s experience and capabilities. We very much look forward to Ken’s further leadership toward ongoing success,” said Ola Rollen, CEO Hexagon AB.
